Discover the Lower Río Grande at Villa Maria Lodge
The lower section of the Río Grande is where it all begins. Here, the river takes shape with gravel bars, deep pools, and classic runs sculpted by powerful flows off the Andes. It’s prime holding water for sea-run browns and it’s the first stop for these giants as they push upstream from the Atlantic. Many anglers consider this the most productive water on the river.
Add in the chance to target trout that regularly top 20 pounds, and it’s clear why this section is considered one of the best in all of Patagonia.
